Adamo’s

Neighborhood restaurants are awesome, and awesome neighborhood restaurants are a rare find. Adamo’s is one such restaurant in the heart of Sacramento. It’s unassuming exterior may seem humble and meek, but the food is anything but. Adamo’s offers up delicious, fresh made pasta for those looking for a satisfying meal.

Adamo’s isn’t a very large restaurant, but there is ample seating as well as bar seating. I can imagine on very busy nights that there will be a wait to be seated as people come clamoring in for pasta. I came in on a quiet Thursday evening, but the restaurant quickly filled up after I was seated.

The menu at Adamo’s is relatively small. It’s selection of items shows tremendous care in each of the dishes that they offer. Looking at it, I feel that the dishes are well-thought out and crafted just the way they are supposed to be.

I began my meal with the market bruschetta. This bruschetta was unlike any I’ve had before. The appetizer came with small, crunchy slices of bread topped with a creamy butter, honey citrus glaze, basil, and fresh figs. It was a sweet and savory bite all at the same time. I felt that this dish was very creative and fun to eat - a real unique take on bruschetta!

If you’re looking for a more substantial appetizer, I’d go with the Sucio fries or summer arancini. The fries are especially good for groups as they are loaded with a bounty of flavors.

For my main meal I went with the chicken alfredo. I absolutely love a well-made alfredo and Adamo’s delivers it perfectly. The noodles are wide and hold the creamy sauce very well. The chicken that comes on the top has a gorgeous char that adds a complex flavor to every bite. This dish is heavenly and I’d have it every single time I come here!

Other pasta dishes include a carbonara, salmon picatta, bolognese, ravioli, and gnocchi. I am positively sure you’ll find one that you’ll love. If you go with a large group, just order a bunch of different dishes and give each other’s a try! You’ll be in pasta heaven!

Adamo’s does its food the right way and I’m so glad this little restaurant is in Sacramento. Great pasta can be hard to find, but not if you look here.
