Gluten Off Bakery
After visiting Portland, I wanted to see what Sacramento had on offer in terms of gluten free restaurants. My wife is gluten intolerant so finding gluten free places is always a top thought for us when dining out. Portland is one of top places in the entire country when it comes to gluten free restaurants. On our trip there we had fantastic gluten free experiences that offered delicious food. Sadly, Sacramento is not like Portland at all in this regard. Gluten free options in Sacramento are few.
Gluten Off Bakery is one of the best options for gluten free dining in Sacramento. This restaurant has a good variety of gluten free choices. I’ve found that gluten free places are a bit limited when it comes to food options, but Gluten Off Bakery’s menu is surprisingly large. They have different kinds of bread and sandwiches, baked goods, sweet and savory crepes, as well as pizza and burgers. I’d say that’s a pretty impressive range!
Gluten Off Bakery is family owned and the restaurant is lovingly cared for. We found the dining are to be very clean with a lot of thought put into the decor and seating. The counter also has a huge display of their baked goods for patrons to see. It’s honestly pretty hard to nail down what to get when you come because of all the choices you have.
Our visit to Gluten Off Bakery was early in the morning so I felt like a crepe. I ended up getting their apple cinnamon crepe, and it was delicious! The crepe was light and thin with a sweet apple filling. I’d say these crepes are some of the best I’ve had recently. I’m not a fan of crepes with a thick dough, and these weren’t that. These crepes were easy to eat and kept me coming back for more.
My wife went for the avocado toast with smoked salmon and it came absolutely loaded. They don’t skimp at Gluten Off Bakery! It was a large size for breakfast and was presented beautifully.
We also tried the cinnamon roll and a scone to see how they were. We didn’t enjoy these items as much as the kitchen prepared items, but they did the job for those wanting a gluten free experience.
If you’re someone who is seeking a restaurant that specializes in gluten free items, I would highly recommend Gluten Off Bakery. The variety on the menu is impressive and you can tell that all the items on the menu are crafted with love and care.
This is a great location to enjoy gluten free eating, I just hope more restaurants follow Gluten Off Bakery’s lead so that there are more gluten free restaurants in Sacramento.
