Sana’a Cafe

Sana’a Cafe on K Street is a very unique cafe that has an amazingly elegant ambiance. If you’re also looking for more unique flavors, this is a place you really need to check out. Sana’a Cafe features traditional Yemeni falvors in their coffee and food items. I personally have never been to a cafe like this before and am so glad I was able to experience it here in Sacramento.

When you enter Sana’a you’ll be greeted by its elegant interior. The funiture and decor is thoughtfully designed and inviting. I especially love the couch area on one side of the cafe. Rather than having benches or hard seating, this area features a comforable couch that stretches all the way across the cafe’s wall. The armrests are moveable so that you can adjust them depending on where the tables are. The entire inerior has a warm feeling with brown/wood tones. It’s certainly a place that you can just sit, relax, and enjoy.

I found the service to be excellent at Sana’a. The barista at the counter was very helpful and greeted me with a beautful smile. I was very curious about the various menu items and she was able to help me make decisions on what to order. I ended up trying their Yemeni latte as well as a pistacio milk cake.

The Yemeni latte had flavorings of cardimom and cinnamon. It was rich and flavor and was topped with beautiful foam art. It came in their own branded coffee cup as well. I ordered it to be extra sweet and found the overall taste to be well-balanced. It wasn’t overly sweet, which I appreciated.

My favorite item that I had was the pistachio milk cake. Looking in the case I noticed that there wasn’t many left. I asked if it was a popular item and the barista told me it was very good and very popular. Well, I had to try it then! This item reminded me of a tres leches cake where the cake is pretty much soaked so that it has a wet texture to it. The flavor was sweet but not too much and the cream and pistacio were heavenly. I can totally see why this item was so popular. It is a unique gem that I haven’t had anwhere else. It’s something that I’d recommend that you give a try for yourself if you find yourself at Sana’a Cafe.

Being located on K Street in Sacramento makes getting to Sana’a Cafe a little bit of a challenge as parking can be tedius in that area of the city. That’s my only gripe about this cafe as it is certainly a place I would love to visit over and over again.

Sana’a Cafe is an outstanding place in the city and I hope more people are able to enjoy its offerings!
