Urban Roots

There are some places that just invite you to come, hang out, and stay a while. Urban Roots is one of those places. This craft brewery and BBQ house is spacious and accommodating with outdoor seating as well as an enormous indoor space with various areas to sit in. Grab a drink, order up some food, and you’ll be set for an amazing time at Urban Roots.

Being a brewery, there are many beer options for you to enjoy. Urban Roots has a variety of beers from lagers to IPAs and everything in-between. I’m sure you’ll find just the right beverage that you want! If you’re more into ciders or wine, those are also available. For current specials, I’d recommend checking out their blog on their site. You’ll find special creations that have been crafted recently. There’s some real interesting stuff to check out there!

If you’re hungry, Urban Roots has you covered with a menu that caters to all diets. If you’re a meat enthusiast, you’ll marvel at their smoked meat choices. I personally loved having the pork belly burnt ends. These delicious chunks of pork are covered in a special sweet and sticky sauce that pretty much creates a ‘meat candy’ that has to be tasted to be believed. You’ll also find brisket, ribs, hot links, and salmon on the meat menu as well.

For those who are vegan or vegetarian, Urban Roots has made sure to have items that cater to these special diets. The menu is clearly labeled so it’s clear what items do not include things that those diets don’t allow for.

In terms of sides, I’d highly recommend the mac and cheese as it is as cheesy as they come. The mac and cheese is rich and filling and works great next to those delicious meat offerings. The cornbread is also very tasty and compliments the food nicely as well.

Urban Roots is a very impressive place for food and you’ll see on a visit there that many folks agree. The setting is comfortable and open with tables large enough to seat really large groups.

In fact, friends of mine brought some boardgames to the restaurant and were able to really use a large amount of space to play. It was awesome to enjoy some delicious food, have some drinks, and enjoy a friendly competition without feeling cramped or in the way of anyone.

Urban Roots is a bit hidden on V Street as it really isn’t near a bustling part of town, so make sure you make the effort to find this restaurant and give it a try!
